After our day for giving thanks... after our weekend for holiday travels and bargain shopping... and after a day to catch our breath... We've finally arrived at #GivingTuesday, a day dedicated to giving back.

Dec. 2nd is #GivingTuesday, when non-profit organizations, charities, communities, businesses, and individuals unite around a common purpose: to celebrate generosity… and to give. #GivingTuesday has become a global movement with over 10,000 participating organizations worldwide.

With your support during the recent election, CLCV-endorsed candidates won the vast majority of their races, including a wide variety of up-and-coming environmental champions in the State Senate and Assembly. The federal results tell a different story, however. Given the gridlock in Congress, California’s role as innovative problem-solving environmental powerhouse is more important than ever.

Undoubtedly, your special gift this #GivingTuesday will empower CLCV to continue fighting for strong environmental protections throughout California. Click here to make your gift: http://ecovote.org/GivingTuesday »

Here in California, our champions in Sacramento are making real environmental progress; in fact, 2014 was the best year for the state’s environment in recent memory. We helped pass laws to protect our groundwater supplies, ban single-use plastic bags, put one million electric vehicles on the roads, and reduce exposure to toxic chemicals in consumer products. We also stopped Big Oil’s attacks on our state’s landmark climate and clean air law despite a flood of polluter money.

These victories for our environment happen because of you, our thousands upon thousands of members and activists supporting our work and holding lawmakers accountable. As part of the California League of Conservation Voters, you're helping elect the next generation of environmental champions and letting legislators know what’s really important to California families: clean air, clean water, healthy communities, and wild places for all creatures to thrive.
