Mad Men Actors on High-Speed Rail: "Most efficient, economical, best investment"

Two Mad Men actors teamed up with U.S. PIRG to make a great Funny or Die video for high-speed rail:

Character Pete has some ideas for how to advertise high-speed rail, while Harry assures him it doesn't need advertisement, as it makes so much sense. "America always makes the right investments," he says, "Trains are the most efficient, economical, best investment."

He also says that he heard that "in 40 years, gas is going to be almost a dollar a gallon.”

I remember when I first started driving, gas cost just under a dollar. With gas prices approaching $4 a gallon, investing in trains makes even more economic sense than it did in 1965.

Tomorrow I'll be riding an Amtrak train from Oakland to Sacramento and will surely be day dreaming about California's future high-speed rail system and of how much quicker my ride would be with faster trains. Watch this video, rate it "funny", and forward it to your friends, co-workers and family to spread the word about the importance of high-speed rail to make sure those dreams become a reality.
